Emerging Nigerian teen sensation Henry Onyekuru scored for the second time in three days for Belgian side AS Eupen as they defeated Club Brugge 3:2 to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Belgian Cup on Tuesday night.
The 19-year-old, who scored on Saturday in a 3:3 league draw with bottom side Westerlo, netted Eupen’s second goal to make it 2:0 three minutes after the break. The visitors fought back to make it 2:2 before Eupen, who also featured Nigerian midfielder Anthony Bassey, grabbed a stoppage time win.
Onyekuru, a graduate of the Aspire Academy in Qatar, has now scored eight goals in 17 games in all competitions for the club this season.
Playing in his first top-flight campaign, after scoring six goals in 19 games in the second division last season, Onyekuru is his club’s leading scorer in the league with seven goals in 16 games.
