Leicester makes move for Ndidi – .

English Premier League champions Leicester City have reported launched a 15.5m pounds bid for rising Nigeria star Wilfred Ndidi, according to reports in Belgium where he plays for top-flight side Genk.
The 19-year-old central midfielder, who is also comfortable in central defence, has had an excellent season at Genk and resultantly attracted several clubs in the money-rich English top division.
He has neen linked with Tottenham and Watford, as well as English Championship side Newcastle United, although his agent recently said there had been no contacts from the clubs.
Meanwhile, if signed, Ndidi could go head-to-head with Ghana star Daniel Amartey who is currently running the midfield since the departure of France star NGolo Kante to fellow EPL side Chelsea in the summer.
With Amartey expected to be in the Black Stars squad to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in January, Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri would be looking for cover, and Ndidi could get thrown into the deep end if the move succeeds.
Meanwhile Africanfootball.com quotes a source close to the player as confirming interest from an EPL club.
He (Ndidi) is doing well in Belgium, and there is an interest from an English club that I can tell you, but I cannot confirm the name of the club to you at the moment, the source said.
Known for his rare but often spectacular goals, Ndidi has made 26 appearances for Genk in all competitions this season and scored two goals. In the last campaign he made 43 appearances and bagged four goals.
Leicester already have Ahmed Musa, who is Ndidi’s international teammate.
