Peoples Digest Online – Facebook is letting some users react with a purple flower.
The social network introduced the little flowers for a while last year, and it’s bringing them back in time for Sunday May 14, upon which Mother’s Day is celebrated in 80 countries around the world. The symbol is supposed to be a showing of ‘thanks’, so is ideal for letting our mums know we’re grateful for all the beans on toast and lifts to the train station.
Facebook said in a statement: “In honour of Mother’s Day, we are testing the ability for people in a few markets to leave a flower reaction”.
However, while the purple flower has appeared in various countries, it hasn’t yet cropped up in Britain. It makes sense, given our Mother’s Day has been and gone. But it might arrive soon, so keep a look out.
